Water is a vital commodity for man in the 21st Century. In 2005, more than two billion people did not have access to drinking water and sanitation. The «Water for life, water or all» programme launched by the United Nations aims to halve this figure over the next ten years.

TR-Engineering is doing its bit by contributing its know-how and experience to this campaign for a more equita-ble world.

We are devoting our efforts to maintaining, distributing, managing and protecting this vital natural resource by offering our skills throughout the management process of the water cycle.

Drinking water

Resource diagnostics, definition of needs, inventory of existing resources, design and calculation of treatment plants, pumping stations and reservoirs, design and modelling of distribution networks.

Drainage

Recovery and treatment of water for re-use at the end of the cycle (domestic, industrial, agricultural, viticultural wastewater and urban rainwater).

Design and construction of wastewater collection and treatment infrastructures – sewage treatment plants, combined separate or mixed sewers, retention ponds and spillways, special treatment structures (hydrocarbon separators, settling basins, etc.

Village hydraulics Irrigation

Extracting groundwater, equipping the most vulnerable regions with wells, boreholes and water supply points, building water towers and supply pipelines.

Designing irrigation systems

Flood protection measures using removable elements mounted on top of a fixed wall (Ingeldorf, G.D. Luxembourg)
In addition to hydraulic parameters, the new design of retention pond now also responds to ecological criteria (Aspelt basin, A13 motorway, G.D.Luxembourg)

Local sewage treatment plant for 90,000 equivalent inhabitants with digestion tanks and a recycling centre (Schifflange, G.D. Luxembourg) Providing a fishway on a secondary dam on the Haute Sûre artificial lake, (G.D. Luxembourg)

River works

Maintaining and protecting water courses, anticipating and preventing the risk of flooding.

Predicting and forecasting floods in real time, risk pre-vention plan

Designing structures to improve ecological conditions (fishways)

Designing erosion protection works

Environment

Diagnostics and preliminary audits

Impact studies

Planning and management of natural spaces

Mapping of biotopes

Ecological evaluation and management plans for the countryside (Green Plans)

Constructing a natural retention area serving as a compensation volume as part of flood protection measures (Sûre, G.D. Luxembourg)
Respecting the environment: raised pathway across an area of wetland; compensatory measures during the construction of the A13 motorway (G.D. Luxembourg)
